Peg Guru
The beloved peg puzzle game, made famous by Cracker Barrel restaurants.
Peg Guru has three modes: Play, Demo and Search.
PLAY Mode: Boards can be Classic 14-peg puzzles, Random puzzles with selectable peg counts (all guaranteed to have at least one solution) or User loaded puzzles of any size. In this mode, the user is notified immediately if no "genius" solution (one peg remaining) is possible. A readout of all remaining 'valid' moves as well as summary of possible landing positions is updated after each move (with the HINT+ feature enabled).
DEMO Mode: Like PLAY mode, Classic, Random and User puzzles are available. But unlike PLAY mode, the user can step through every solution to the selected puzzle Solutions can number in the thousands. Another feature of this mode is that is a User puzzle has no solution, a "Best Finish" demo is presented that the user can step through.
Most similar apps have a Play mode, some even have a Play and Demo mode. What makes this app different is its Search Mode.
SEARCH MODE: There are 438,998 "genius" solutions for all 14-peg puzzles covering all 15 starting peg positions. These solutions are loaded in the game's database. The user can select starting and finishing position and, using SEARCH, produce every solution matching those parameters. Or choose ALL/ALL and access all 438,998 of them! Every solution can be stepped through.
No weird sound effects, no timers, minimal graphics, no In-App purchases, and not a terribly sexy wrapper. But the price is right (FREE!).
